How to Get Rid of an Old Mattress on the Central Coast
Mattresses are one of the most awkward things to shift and one of the worst to dump illegally. Here's how to do it the easy, legal way.

Why you should not just dump it
Dumped mattresses are a huge illegal-dumping problem and councils issue big fines. They also do not belong in your kerbside bin. A mattress is bulky, heavy and springs make it a pain, which is exactly why people are tempted to do the wrong thing.
Your options
Some councils take mattresses in a booked hard-waste collection, but you often wait weeks and it must be on the kerb. Charities rarely take used mattresses. The quickest option is mattress removal: we pick it up from inside, wherever it is, and take it away the same day.
Mattress recycling
Up to 75 percent of a mattress can be recycled, steel, foam and timber. We send mattresses for recycling where we can rather than straight to landfill.
